Halo-halo glossary

What's in the layers

The classic halo-halo ingredients, and what each one adds once you start mixing.

  • Ube halaya

Purple yam slow-cooked with milk and sugar into a thick, velvety jam. Rich, nutty and naturally purple.

  • Macapuno

A rare coconut with soft, jelly-like flesh, cut into sweet strings. Chewy and delicate.

  • Nata de coco

Chewy, translucent cubes made from fermented coconut water. A Filipino original.

  • Saba banana

The Philippine cooking banana, simmered in syrup until soft and caramel-sweet.

  • Sweet corn

Golden kernels with a fresh, sweet pop. Super Maisarap is built around them.

  • Shaved ice

The base of every cup. Our premium signature ice is a secret house recipe, shaved fine when you order so it melts into cream.

  • Ice cream & cream

The finish: a scoop of ice cream and our signature cream, a custard cream the family hand-makes from its own recipe and sends fresh to every branch.
